The Village of West Greenville, SC
VilLive
Welcome to the Village… a small arts district in West Greenville, South Carolina. Where creativity, diversity, and community come together, tied by rich history and bold artistry. But first, let me explain how I got involved here.
Cadency is one of 3 signature programs in the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business at Clemson University. It’s Clemson’s student-led marketing consulting agency that works with real clients, with real issues. For some reason, the Cadency executive team and Program mentors looked at me and decided to have me run my own team as a sophomore with absolutely zero experience… here's how it went.
I quickly learned I am someone who likes to work backwards from the key goal. With Katie Skoloff, the president of the Village Business Association, we first established that the key goal was to drive revenue to all of the small businesses located in The Village. With summer approaching and music running deep in South Carolina's roots, we landed on one activation…
Together, we branded The Villages' new summer concert series, VilLive.
As Account Manager, I led the strategic direction of the VilLive brand for The Village of West Greenville. I translated client objectives into clear brand positioning, guided creative execution, and ensured consistency across all deliverables. While I did not design the visual assets, I played a key role in shaping a brand system that brings VilLive to life and strengthens its connection to the local community. At every stage, I made sure to keep the community at the center of the process, ensuring they were the reason behind every strategic decision we made. As someone who is a music lover and has immense respect for small business owners, I feel incredibly grateful to have worked on this project.
Things I learned from this work experience:
Adaptability is a superpower
There has to be a strategy behind EVERYTHING
Entrepreneurs are Badass!
